Melt Away Lover

Melt Away Lover

A Poem by Luna Lazarus
"

No.

"

The water colour sky is painted against the top of this world,

And it blends beautifully.

The hand and brush are gone,

And still it moves,

It forms,

So perfectly.

It reminds me of the way your words blend,

Seamlessly,

And I can’t help but wonder

If the artist who managed this sky

Was inspired by you.

And then, there you are.

In my mind again,

Floating around like a balloon,

Free to fly away,

And leaving tears in the eyes of the one that held you.

(I imagine you’d be a blue balloon, the colour suits you)

Oh right. Tears.

They well up in my eyes, but don’t spill over.

I let them accumulate,

And I can see that someone has poured an invisible glass of water,

All over that water colour sky.

Why would they want to destroy the beauty of drastically different colours,

Blending without a word,

Without any suffering?

Just to watch it all melt away?

We’re melting away…
