We're All Falling StarsA Poem by Luna LazarusNo.I’m staring into the sky And all I can see are the blankest blots of darkness Surrounding the pinholes of blissful ignorance.
Out of the corner of a dilated-pupil eye, A faint but persistent light glows into the picture.
It’s too easy To divert the focus of that eye.
It’s far more difficult To stare into the world of great Bella Luna In her shattering aura,
When slipping between comets Comes so easily.
No sunlight, you say? It’s dead, black ice here.
Forgotten oceans of lust-less passion And love untainted by romance, Shake out a few stormy nights Just to be able to say, ‘I gave you what you said you wanted.’
It’s all selfish loathing And cosmic fall-outs.
Celestial beauty surrounds, Like models on the catwalk. We’re the ugly, useless interns Somewhere in the forgotten last row.
We’ve given up slowly, But we came through with it.
We’ve fallen between stars. © 2011 Luna LazarusAuthor's Note
