Are You Still In Love Tonight?A Poem by Luna LazarusNo.Bloodied and broken,
Bruised yet still beating. Covered in dirt And stabbed by gravel. . .
Lying in a ditch With a thick morning fog Accompanying the growing daylight.
Almost frozen over, And certainly forgotten by its tormentor, It repeats its deadly song Of woe.
Stuttering and stammering Over every other beat, It is stubborn about keeping up the job It’d known since it was first created.
Sunlight’s rays broke through, Leaving dried blood caked around it At the bottom of this ditch for the damned. © 2011 Luna LazarusAuthor's Note
