Dinner with the DivineA Poem by SelenaIf I could sit with God this holiday, Would words flow freely like the wine we’d share? Or would I find my voice trapped in my throat, A silent mouse amidst the heavenly air? Would my heart dance wildly, giddy and bright, As laughter sparkled like the stars on high? Would blushing cheeks betray the thoughts I keep, In divine presence, oh! How the moments fly. Would my grin stretch wide, a joyous embrace, So broad, it shames the brightest winter moon? Would that radiant smile shatter my fears, As I bask in kindness, a soft, holy tune? Could I find the courage to gaze in Your eyes, Or would I bow my head, drowning in grace? In humble reverence, would I seek Your light, Or dance with delight, lost in love's warm embrace? If I were lucky to dine at Your side, To share a meal, a moment, a smile, Would I whisper secrets, hopes wrapped in dreams, Or find myself pondering each precious while? Oh, to feast with the Lord at a holiday table, With gratitude filling the air like sweet bread! Would I laugh and reminisce, connect beyond time, Or would silence weave threads of wonder instead? So here I ponder, with heart open wide, If I could sit down, engaging Your grace, I’d cherish each morsel, each glance, every laugh, A sacred communion in a transcendent space. For in that divine presence, all else would dissolve, To hold hands with wonder, to bridge every gap. And perhaps it’s enough, this shimmering dream" A dinner with God, where love is the map.
