My Story

Chapter one of Twelve

Being a necropolis is not easy and because of it I'm forced to fight every night and when I get help from people they end up hurt or even worse killed. The last known necropolis died over four to six hundred years ago. No one knows exactly how he died. But I know for a fact we were the same. There hasn't been one since, until I came along. My name is Drake Luna, I’m fourteen years old and I was born and raised in Nampa, Idaho. I have black hair and dark brown eyes; I’m 5’9” which is tall for my age. My father died twelve years ago from a gunshot so I’ve been told by my mom. I’m an eighth grader attending North Middle school. I first started to notice my powers in fifth grade at River Dean Elementary during lunch when I was attacked by a Germa (a giant monster that is half German shepherd and half mammoth with fangs as big as a ceiling fan). He came out of nowhere when I was attacked, lucky for me none of my friends were around to witness the attack. The Germa tried to kill me but he didn’t get the chance because when he tried to pounce on me I closed my eyes and the Germa froze in midair, then something or someone stopped him while he was frozen. But I don’t know who it was but the beast wasn’t destroyed he was just knocked out for a little bit. When it woke up it tried to attack again, but a bright light came out from my hand, the next thing I knew the Beast was lifeless. The Germa’s body started to glow and it was gone but in its place was a flower. Then my teacher Mr. Fiery noticed me standing there alone. I then heard him say,

”Drake are you coming.”

But I just stood there looking at the flower in shock,

“Drake are you okay, do you need to see the nurse?”

“Uh. No I don’t sorry. I was dozing off.”

“It’s okay let’s go inside.”

That’s when I first noticed my powers. The summer of 06’ was strange because of my new found powers also because I was heading into middle school. After a month I wasn’t sure if I had powers because I haven’t seen any sign of having powers, so I started to think that day never happened and that it was just a dream. Over the summer my mom, my sister, my grandma, and I went to go see my great grandmother in California which was fun, once we were done we headed back home to Nampa, Idaho. We had to stop for a few days at the hotel called Circus- Circus in Reno, Nevada it was the most fun I had in years. When we got to the hotel my mom gave my sister Bailey and I each twenty dollars; which we spent it all on games. Later that night was dinner time my mom and my grandma Janice told us to go buy some pizza for dinner; my mom and grandma were going to eat somewhere else. We could tell because they were both wearing black dresses and diamond necklaces. Bailey and I were okay with it, We went to go eat at this pizza place inside Circus-Circus that had lizards on the walls. It was a nice place, we walked up to the cash register and this tall guy with dirty blonde hair walked greeted us.

“Hi my name is mark, what can I get for you today?" he said taking out his notebook

“Um. We would like a Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza with cheese.” I started to gaze at the window because I saw a shadow with horn’s and a weird snake like tongue, I looked over to Mark and Bailey, and they were still talking. I walked towards the window to look outside but nothing was there I shrugged my shoulders and walked toward Bailey,

“What’s wrong Drake?” she said handing me my drink cup

“Nothing.”

“Are you sure?” Bailey asked

“Yes.” I looked back at the window and it was sunny outside.

“Okay Then. Let’s go get our drinks”

“Okay. Wait!”

All of a sudden I had a vision about this huge red dragon bursting through the window right after mark gave us are pizza. I then saw Bailey shaking my arm.  I looked over at the window and I saw the shadow again

“Drake what is wrong?” she said trying to catch my eye

“Bailey, we need to get out of here!” I grabbed Bailey and headed towards the door

“Why?”

“Something bad going to happen”

“What…..”

“Here’s your pizza kid” mark put the pizza on the counter

“Thanks” Bailey said

Then the window broke and this huge red dragon came through just like in my vision. Broken glass was everywhere mark and Bailey both screamed. the dragon started to throw stuff across the room.

“Where is Drake” it screeched

Bailey and I looked at each other and ran; the dragon saw us and chased after us. It was hard to run because of people trying to escape. We ran past the ballroom where my mom and grandma were at, they saw us running from the dragon, I heard my mom screamed “Bailey, Drake run!”

“I must destroy you necropolis!” It screeched

 We turned the corner and a fire ball flew right past us. My mom and grandma were running as fast as they could.

“Leave us alone” Bailey screamed

The dragons kept following us catching stuff on fire as he flew past. Bailey and I ran into a dead end, I looked around but the dragon was gone. Just like that no traces, no flowers, no nothing. My mom and my grandma both said in a scared tone.

“We are leaving”

They grabbed us and we left not even grabbing are stuff from the hotel room and we headed back to home.
