Believe

Believe

A Poem by Little Pill

She’ll never believe.

That she really is pretty.

And that in itself is a pity.

She sees her looks as dull.

She’ll never see that she’s beautiful.

She’ll never believe.

That she really is smart.

And that is the sad part.

She thinks she has the I.Q. of lint.

She’ll never realize she’s intelligent.

She’ll never believe.

That she really is artistic.

And that is truly sick.

She assumes she has nothing to give.

She’ll never comprehend she’s creative.

She’ll never believe.

That she really is amazing.

And that is a disappointing thing.

She considers herself dysfunctional.

She’ll never understand she’s phenomenal.

She’ll never believe.

But I’m going to say it anyway.

I really like this, and I'm surprised it hasn't been reviewed.

Each stanza reminds me of people I have known over the years. I have a smart friend who hasn't maximised her potential, and could do anything she wanted if she were more motivated. I also know a girl who I think is amazing, but seems to not be happy with who she is. It's a nice feeling to tell them how wonderful they are, but at the same time, I also fear that I'm pushing them further away by telling them things they don't necessarily want to hear. It's a fine line, which is why this means a lot to me.

In summary... good rhyming, good meaning, good write.
