Good Morning?

Good Morning?

A Poem by Little Pill

It’s the noise, it’s the noise.

The song that plays that I hate so much.

The song that plays that makes me jump.

Out of the fog and into the day.

I’m up; I’m up make the damn noise stop.

Pick it up, turn it off, put it back down.

Take a moment to take a breath.

Force the throbbing above my right eye I away.

Blink once, blink twice, blink another three times.

I should move I know I should.

Pull the cover, push them away.

Let the cold scare me awake like the song does.

Sit and stare.

Blink once, blink twice, blink another three times.

I’m vertical now, turn the lights on.

The throbbing is back.

One step, two steps across the room to the mirror.

Open the case put one contact in my eye.

Look up look down look up look down.

Blink once, blink twice, blink another three times.

Now the other one.

Look up look down look up look down.

Blink once, blink twice, blink another three times.

Look in the mirror wonder what my hair is doing.

Blink once, blink twice, blink another three times.

And I’m off to start my day.
