Chapter OneA Chapter by Luna KusanI stood in the front yard, glaring at our new Victorian house, Crossing my arms over my chest, I scolded my parents for making me move from Georgia to California. In my mind of course. Ha ha.. I already had to stop short of cussing them out on the way up here. I watched workers move stuff into the house, repaint its exterior, and even fix the land scaping. Geez... I growled quietly and turned to the moving van that housed all of my things. The only comfort was that my older siblings, Kalya and Xander, are against this just as much as I am. I sighed and picked up three boxes filled with clothes. I started towards the house when Xander stopped me. "Nadya, let me carry your stuff to your room. I already have your dresser, bed and book shelf were you wanted them." "What about your room, though?" I asked as he took the boxes. "Already finished about half an hour ago." "Uhm.. Alright?" I followed Xander to the third floor, our floor, without a single complaint. It was a good thing there was three floors. Xander and I shared the third floor, Kalya and our parents had the second. Poor Kalya, I feel slightly bad. Wait...No I don't. Better her than me. Snapping out of my train-of-thought, I realized I was standing in my room. Xander looked at me softly. He was worried of course. I haven't been very happy since we moved from Georgia. I missed our little home and all of my friends. It's hard to since we've lived in the same spot for 19 years. Kalya was there since she was born, same for me and Xander. This sucks, especially since my 16th birthday is coming up. I sat down on my cold hard-wood floor and began pulling clothes out, seperating them, and folding them. After about an hour, Xander brought the last of my things into the room. Sitting accross from me, he put my dresses, skirts, long sleeved shirts, nices shirts, and my jeans on to hangers. It was good to have his help. "Mom and dad left to enroll us. We'll have to start school Wednesday." "Great! A new hell hole in Cali. What amazing fun!" I said sarcastically. "Ain't that true." Our southern twang was strong and far too easy to tell that we were from the southeastern United states. Hell, they might be able to pin-point where exactly. With Xander's helped we finished my room in a short amount of time. I stared at the huge 38' by 40' poster board that hung on my wall. It had a collection of photos spaced out where words (like love, friendship, peace, peaches, etc) were placed in between them. All of the photos were of me and my friends. In the center Georgia was wroten fairly largely, fancy and curvy. I laughed softly. My friends gave it to me.. I couldn't help but start thinking about my crazy friends. In the same moment I realized just how late it was. I looked at Xander; he understood. Helping me off the floor, he sighed. "Get some sleep, you'll need it. Goodnight, Nadya." On that note, he left and I was left alone. © 2013 Luna Kusan |
