world peace-a fading dreamA Poem by Lumumba Adam Naroit is a poem written from an observatory point of viewWorld Peace, the fading dream.
By the age of 12 I knew the world through a harsh representation Watching news with my mom Nothing but devastation From hunger and disease crisis To terror attacks by ISIS I got accustomed to bad news Though vexed with these vices I was hopeful towards peace Had hope for the end of violence Had hope for the rise of benevolence But I was as wrong as two left feet To think the world’s calamities would ever meet defeat
If it isn’t tribal war in south Sudan It is barbaric killings in Iran That’s not the end of it Let me take you to Pakistan A dozen killed in a suicide bombing In the month of Ramadan With such atrocious acts Surely evil has won
It is not the end of this saga Far from it we are Look at the war in Gaza Honestly quite bizarre An endless series of bloodshed Will it ever end? My opinion is negative I mean not to offend I am simply out of hope What about you my friend?
