Choke

Choke

A Poem by Yeelen

The Automatic Reflex is to force it out

That knot forming under the tightening around my throat

The knot of words growing, moving

Rearranging themselves into the shape of something that will shock the grip off

But as the words pass through the restriction they become so deformed Stop

changes to carry on

Cupids Chokehold kept me stupid for so long

blood ceased flowing to my brain cells

I didn't think to contend the attack

Cause Gym Class Heroes didn't school in the fight back

Failed to mention that the empty phone calls

Was cause the cat had her tongue

But it wasn't claws holding my words

I was biting my own lip

surpressing the scream

So I didn't look weak

Only I was confused between courage and stupidity

Braindead

It was a stroke

Of luck that I woke up from this coma

Passed out from the lack of air to my lungs

I was choked

Not to death but to a tighter grip on life

I'm only discoloured

but lividity can't overpower this lucidity

I can speak clearly now

the pain has gone
