Chapter 2

Chapter 2

A Chapter by Elysa Kristen Lavelle

The school bell rang telling everyone that school is over. Me and Jeremy have planned to stay for a couple more hours after school just to investigate about the head we both saw two days ago. And just after one day, we started calling each other with different names. He call me Chris which kinda sounds like a guy's name but I don't really mind. I only call him 'J' and sometimes JJ. We waited until at least 80% of the students have gone home. Then, we went into action.

We went to the building across our class. Turns out it was an old building. It looks like it used to be old classrooms since there are a lot of tables and chairs and stuff. We were only able to see through the windows because all of the doors were locked.

"I think it's a bad idea sneaking through here... Let's go I'm getting scared..." I said to him. My whole body was shaking. I was really scared of seeing the head.

"Oh c'mon please. I've waited like for 2 days for today! Please oh please Chris you're my only friend that can see it!" Jeremy begged me as he kneels down and begged like a beggar begging for money.

"Fine... but I am your responsibility!" I said to him. My voice was shaking and so was my whole body. I was really scared.

"But how will we get in?" I asked him with a smile on my face. Hoping he will have no idea how to go in and we won't have to go in.

While I was thinking about all of it in my mind, a loud bang! I tilt my head to my left - where Jeremy was standing. He kicked the door down! I stared at him with my mouth open looking like a weirdo.

"Great huh? I know I'm strong no need to tell me. I know I'm awesome and strong haha!" Jeremy said while laughing. I looked at him with a pathetic kind of face.

"Yeah yeah whatever" I said pathetically.

"You go first J I'll follow you from behind..."

"No way! I ain't going in there! I already kicked the door down for us. Besides it looks creepy in there. You should go first Chris"

"What?! No way I'm the lady here. Come on you're the man around here. Besides, you were the one who stopped me from getting out of here"

"Fine... But you must stay close behind me!"

"Sure I don't see why not"

We walked into the class slowly. I tilted my head left and right going through the whole classroom. It looks really abandoned. The chairs and tables were mostly broken and the lights looked like they've all popped into little bits and fallen onto the ground. They were all over the floor! No one would be safe walking in without wearing shoes.

"Ugh!" I made a weird sound while I bumped into Jeremy's back.

"Why did you stop J? Something wrong? Too scared?" I insulted him.

He raised up his right hand 90 degrees pointing at something in front of him. I walked a bit to the right and see what he was pointing at. It was it! The head! I covered my mouth with both my hands, avoiding myself from screaming.

I tried to look away to at least calm myself down. I turned around and closed my eyes trying to think of something good. After few second of not looking, I started feeling a bit better. I opened my eyes and I was paralyzed. They were all over the place! There are loads of heads being hung there!

"Come. We should get out of here." Jeremy said to me in an incredibly shocked tone.

He took my hand and pulled me out of the classroom immediately. He ran out while pulling my hand. I tried to keep up with him but he runs darn fast!

After getting out of the building, He finally slowed down at least a bit. We walked a little bit more until we reach the parking lot. There were benches there and we sat down together. I started talking...

"Well that was....."

"No don't talk about it"

"So what are we gonna do about it? I mean everyone knows about the rumor already"

"Even the teachers. They just act like they don't"

"So what are we gonna do?"

"I don't know..." Jeremy said rubbing his chin thinking about it. After a few seconds of thinking, he finally thought of an idea.

"We need to know more about the rumor. There must be a record of every students and events in the library"

"But how can we find it? Our library is huge!" I said.

"It might not be hard. It is something 'top secret' so they must have hidden it somewhere where no students will think it's there. Think Chris. Where would it be?"

"Maybe it's at the counter? I mean no one would search it there and no one would ask for it so they won't be expecting anything much"

"But if we ask they'll suspect us"

"We'll think of a plan tomorrow. It's late. We have to get home or our parents will get worried."

"Okay then..."

We both grabbed our back and waved each other good-byes. I walked home on my own while thinking about it. Waiting for the next day to come, I spent my night thinking about it.
