Flirting with fireA Poem by LuluMy momma always told me not to play with fire because fire will burn you, and leave ugly burns on your body. And no man would ever want to touch a girl with ugly burns and scars all over her body. I’m like a lost child wandering around in the dark. Slowly feeling my way through the dark following the heat of your body and your voice. Even though my head screams at me to turn, run away or I'll get hurt, my heart tells me to stay. My head is telling me to leave you alone because you are alone like a raging wildfire one that can’t be contained. Your warmth is tempting, my body wants to curl and just let the flames devour me. As my head screams at me my heart whispers in my ear telling me to taste the fire That it won’t burn but quench my thirst. Telling me to bite from the forbidden fruit, testing me to see if I will go against common sense. And to be completely and utterly honest I'm already on my way. I'm never looking back. © 2022 Lulu |
