The Eyes of humanity

The Eyes of humanity

A Poem by Luke Ritta

The eyes of humanity

I gaze into the eyes of humanity and see an emerald coloured

                      Flame flicker in the dark.

Should we walk forward?

           Should we walk backward?

Should we live life as we choose?

I gaze into the eyes of humanity and watch the souls of

Mankind dance in a silver haze.

     Should we love each other?

                 Should we hate each other?

I gaze into the eyes of humanity and it gazes

                                  Back at me.

I'm not really sure how it makes me fill besides making me wonder about the answers to the questions. It makes me want to answer them. And by the end I like how you put that you gaze into the eyes of humanity and it gazes back at me. The flow is nice.

It teeter-totters throughout just like the shape, just like the heart does in life. I really like the shape you gave this one. :)

Humanity has become a stagnant thing. Often times I feel ashamed to count myself among its numbers.

Nice poem though. Good questions. If only everyone knew the answers.

I love that you totally ignore left/right/center align and let your poems take their own shape. This poem feels particularly alive, moving and flowing, though it only takes place in an instant.

Very engaging, so many good questions.

I obviously have a problem with humanity. This was a jewel of a find for me.
