![]() Face to FaceA Poem by Luiza Greneholf
Standing, staring, face to face at last. For the first time we’re separate, equals You’ve morphed out of me like some gruelling exorcism Just as a splinter under my skin – Probably would’ve hurt less just to leave you there, But in my heart I know it’s better to wrench you out… Even if it’s just for the sake of this one moment When I can look straight into those seductive eyes And know that I have a real choice. It’s not a case of your power over me, or my power over you Not any more. Because this time, the choice is finally Mine. © 2008 Luiza GreneholfAuthor's Note
