The Slave

A poem about the lustful desires of love.

Enslave me
Throw away the key.
Don't ever set me free,
I'm scared of what I may be.
If you're not the first thing I wake up to see,
You are my sweet morning tea.
I can't even sleep right,
Unless you're there to hold me tight.
Keep some cuffs around my wrists,
I'm terrified to use these fists.
I just want to love you,
So please see this through.
Keep me on a leash,
I'm just a caged beast.
So please trap me,
Because I'm so lonely.
Keep me locked up,
As if was a runaway pup.
Don't let me get away from you,
Or my heart will be torn in two.
I will always try to disappear,
So if you love me then keep me near.
Hurting you is what I fear,
But loving me will keep me here.
I want your heart to be my cage,
To keep mine from going into a rage.
I am nothing but a slave,
A monster straight out of a cave.
But you saw me for who I am,
And guided me like a lost lamb.
I've been lost for so long,
Thinking that I was wrong.
You didn't see the me in the mirror,
You looked into my eyes which were so much clearer.
What did you see?
Was it truly the real me?
Whether or not this me is true,
I will always stand by you.
My heart may be on a chain,
But connected to yours it will feel no pain.
Enslave me.
