VictoriaA Poem by Courtney EastmanThis is for my best friend Victoria. She's like a sister to me :)One lonely girl takes her seat in the room of twenty kids. Blonde hair and pale complexion you know she's not from around here. "Victoria" is all she says when asked her name. She seems like the type of girl who sits in her room all day listening to music. Who sits in her room and rocks out to heavy metal. Misunderstood? No she is one of a kind. Her thousands of bracelets climb her arms. Chunky necklaces fall over her chest. Thick eyeliner and bright eye shadow. They criticize her. Call her names and make fun. I get to know her. Her past is dark. Taken away at three. Sent to a different Country away from everything she's known. I stand beside her as life throws everything it has at her. Never will I abandon this girl I call a friend. Never will I turn against someone who's been there for me as I her. Oh the jokes we have. The one word that sends us into a laughing fit. But behind those eyes she hides sadness. I see it and try my best to help. No one else cares if she is sad. No one else will comfort here and take her into their home when she needs help. But I will be the friend who stands by her side through thick and thin. No matter what Earth and Hell throws at her I will be the shoulder for her to cry on. I will never let down this girl I call my sister, my friend. I will never let down Victoria © 2012 Courtney EastmanFeatured Review
