Victoria

Victoria

A Poem by Courtney Eastman
"

This is for my best friend Victoria. She's like a sister to me :)

"

One lonely girl takes her seat in the room of twenty kids.

Blonde hair and pale complexion you know she's not from around here.

"Victoria" is all she says when asked her name.

She seems like the type of girl who sits in her room all day listening to music.

Who sits in her room and rocks out to heavy metal.

Misunderstood? No she is one of a kind.

Her thousands of bracelets climb her arms.

Chunky necklaces fall over her chest.

Thick eyeliner and bright eye shadow.

They criticize her.

Call her names and make fun.

I get to know her.

Her past is dark.

Taken away at three.

Sent to a different Country away from everything she's known.

I stand beside her as life throws everything it has at her.

Never will I abandon this girl I call a friend.

Never will I turn against someone who's been there for me as I her.

Oh the jokes we have.

The one word that sends us into a laughing fit.

But behind those eyes she hides sadness.

I see it and try my best to help.

No one else cares if she is sad.

No one else will comfort here and take her into their home when she needs help.

But I will be the friend who stands by her side through thick and thin.

No matter what Earth and Hell throws at her I will be the shoulder for her to cry on.

I will never let down this girl I call my sister, my friend.

I will never let down Victoria

victoria is such a powerful name, this poem was long, but i can feel you meant every word of it.

True friends are rare, but you are a true friend to this girl, and she is yours, it's amazing, friendship can be amazing!

If only I found a friend like the pair of you, then life would be made just that tiny bit easier.

great poem, thankyou for sharing it!

keep writing.

My Dad was a strong proponent of paying attention to the routines of his friends. And in the end he had a friend like that as well. He lived alone and may have spent a day or two dead at his breakfast table were it not for his friend who when my dad wasn't outside waiting for him for their morning walk, he knew something was wrong. And so did I less than an hour later. Victoria is fortunate to have a friend like you my friend.
