Be Mine

Be Mine

A Poem by Ally Baker

Why be her's and not mine?
She is no sweet, delicate wine.
With her, you only fight.
With me, you will find delight.

For I will cherish who you are
And love you, no matter how far.
You mean so much to me,
Just open your eyes and see.

Does she bring you joy?
Treat as anything other than a toy?
She doesn't truly love you,
Not the way that I do.

I would worry about your needs
And never even consider any misdeeds.
What you two have isn't real.
Listen to your heart -- feel.

There's no reason to stay
Other than for her to play.
So come be mine at last
Memories of her will fade fast.
