How Will It All End?

How Will It All End?

A Poem by Ally Baker

As night approaches
Darkness falls over my surroundings
As well as my heart,
Draping it with its shadows

Without the light of day
It seems harder to fight off
The darkness that sings to my soul
Begging for me to take it back

The gleam of the blade shines brighter
The pills rattle louder in their bottle
The smells of ethanol and THC
Are the only things to fill my nostrils

Your silence screams out at me.
The absence of your love of me
Burns hotter in my chest
Tears running down a numb body

Each night I fight it off
But it's getting stronger
Or am I just getting weaker?
How much longer can this go on?

Will I have to search for wrist bands?
Stock up on eye drops and gum?
Will you be able to come out of your depression?
Or will I just end up joining you?

How will it all end?

very very very great flow, but it lost a bit of it during the stanza before the last line, the questions popped out suddenly.. powerful read. i like it :)

I can relate to this 100%. This is like my life story put in to 6 stanzas and a line. Very great piece. Full of emotion many other people can relate to. Perfect.
