My Love

My Love

A Poem by Ally Baker

He makes me smile.

He makes me laugh.

He makes me feel safe

When the world is falling apart

All around me, pouring down.

He knows when I'm upset

Even when I don't hint at it.

He works it out me, slowly

And when I spill all the details

He comforts me, makes me feel alright.

When I hug him, am wrapped up

In his loving, strong, caring arms

And I feel his heart beating

Fast against my own rapid ticker

I know he feels the same way.

His love is evident in the sweetness

Of the way his lips bear down on mine

And how his arms wrap around my waist

In a protective lover's way.  Everything

He does is humming with that love.

I wrap my arms around his neck

And stand on my toes to kiss him

Back in the same loving, gentle way.

I sigh and pull back to look into his eyes

As I whisper "I love you," to my love.

I love your approach! I can tell how real these words are to you, like a diary entry. I totally relate. I think I have a poem with the same title! Bravo on the write!

As a hopeless romantic myself I have to let out a sigh for such a tender piece of artwork.

Aw! I love this poem. It's so pretty and lovely. The way that the love and romance flows through the words is amazing. I love the way that the love is in this poem and in every word because I love it. ;)
