How Do I Choose?

How Do I Choose?

A Poem by Ally Baker
"

dedicated to Ryan.

"

I sigh as I read the note

Stating his undying love for me

Because I know who its

Sender could be, but I don't.

Because it could be either one.

They both promised to give me time

So that I can make the decision

About which one of them I love more.

But choosing one to give my love to

Means crushing the other's heart.

I care for both so intensely;

How could I fathom such an action?

The stress is getting unbearable.

The nightmares of losing not one,

But both of heart's loves

Wakes me each night in a cold sweat.

I cannot imagine living without one

And building a life with the other.

Yet they want me to choose,

Saying that my heart will tell me who.

They compete for my solitary love.

Yet they cannot see they are tearing me in two.

I love both, and both love me.

How do I choose?
