Washed AwayA Poem by Ally BakerI walk and pick a spot Sitting on the pavement Ignoring the physical pains As sharp objects cut into me.
Burying my face in my knees, I welcome the pounding rain From above to wash away my tears And massage my swollen eyes.
My body starts to shake violently- a result From something more than just the temperature. I ignore it and the fact that so many Parts of me have turned blue and numb.
I can only feel my heart as It breaks in half, those halves Breaking further and further Until all that is left is a fine dust.
This dust is pulled out by my sobs And runs down my body and then Pulled along with this rain, Forever gone, washed away. © 2009 Ally BakerReviews
