I Fear

I Fear

A Poem by Ally Baker

It cries out from within me

Begging to be set loose.

I grit my teeth, straining

To keep it under locks.

I will not let it out,

Something so beastial,

It scares me to my very core

Where it happens to lie.

This thing rests there, or it did.

Now it screams out frequently

Wanting to be released

So desperately.  I can feel it.

I keep it tied down, muzzled.

But that weakens me,

Which only adds strength to it

Making its strength unimaginable.

I'm starting to slip on my hold;

It's showing every now and then,

slipping out when lesat expected,

Surprising everyone around me.

I can't hold it back much longer

It's strength is now greater than

Mine.  I fear for my life that

It will overpower me... completely

Wow This Poem is very good. I love how you expressed yourself and expressed your fear of this beast that
overpowers you.
