One Room, One Door

One Room, One Door

A Poem by Ally Baker

They love to tell me

That when one door closes

God opens another door

Or sometimes a window

But they don't know me

I live out my existance

In a tiny brick room with one door

No windows, no furniture

When  God closes my one door,

There is not another for him

To open.  There are no windows

To substitute that second foor

What am I to do, when God

Decides to close that door on me?

I only have one room, one door.

What happens when that door closes?
