Something More

Something More

A Poem by Ally Baker

laughing

talking

passing time

flirting

questions are asked

people get nervous

the game of flirting

doesn't seem like much fun anymore

harmless flirting is

turning into something more

laying down foundations

for future relationships

what started out as

fun is no more

its getting too serious

someone is going to get hurt

lies are made to

protect one's self, not

thinking of how it

hurts the other

one heart broken to

pieces so the other is

protected. but when two

are one and one breaks

both do

plans devised for nothing

lies made for truth to be told

hearts broken to heal as one

hatred made to make room for

love
