ThreeA Chapter by Ally Baker
his is all your fault!” Tyler yells at Melissa as she throws a cushion at his head. “My fault?! Oh yes. It is entirely my fault for the pregnancy test to have read a false positive!” Melissa yells back. “You know it is your fault! You are the one who wanted to start a family right away! Then you got me thinking that it would not be such a bad thing for it to happen. I was actually starting to enjoy the idea of having a little baby of my own! Then you went and told me you are pregnant and I was absolutely ecstatic about it! But you had to take it away from me! You just HAD to! This is your fault, Melissa! Your fault!” After yelling, he slumps down into a chair to catch his breath. Suddenly, the door to their two-story town house bursts open, slamming against the wall. A piece of paper flies into the room and Tyler walks over to it to pick it up. His eye brows knit together in confusion as he looks over it. “What in Sam’s heck is this?” he asks himself. “Mel, do you know what this means?” he asks her and turns the paper around to show her the hand drawn picture on it. She gasps in horror at the sight of the childish symbol. “Oh no! No! I must leave here! Now!” “I am afraid that it is already too late for that now, Melissa. It is such a shame that none of you volunteered willingly. It really does take much longer to gather you all up this way,” The Cloaked Man says as he walks into the room, sighing. Next, he pulls out a small box with a trigger on it. “Melissa… what is going on?” Tyler asks, not sure of what he should do in this situation. “I am afraid that your dear Melissa has been keeping a rather large secret from you, Tyler…” the raspy and deep voice says from under a dark cloak hood. Then as if it is a reflex, the cloaked figure pulls the trigger, and out flies a metal square on wires, humming rather loudly. When it hits Melissa’s body, her body freaks out as if it were seizing. A buzzing noise was audible from the device though, suggesting that it was some sort of taser gun. The buzzing hum of the taser gun disappears and Melissa’s body falls limp against the carpet of her living room floor. “What did you do to her?!” Tyler yells, worry seeping out of his voice with each word. The Cloaked Man whose face is shadowed snaps his head in Tyler’s direction. “Now Tyler, that is none of your concern. You do not need to worry about your dear little Melissa. She is not who you think she is.” The Cloaked Man walks over to Melissa and picks up her limp body with ease that shows experience. Tyler just sits there, paralyzed by his fear and worry for not only himself but also for Melissa. He does this, completely forgetting about his and Melissa’s fight that happened only minutes ago. As Tyler sits there, paralyzed, The Cloaked Man casually walks out of the town house with Melissa’s body slumped over his shoulder. He walks over to the truck that is waiting for him on the street and throws Melissa’s body into the trunk on top of the bodies of the others. “T © 2008 Ally BakerReviews
