Myself

Myself

A Poem by Ally Baker

I smile

And laugh

And play their little game

Never daring

To show who I really am

I paint my nails pink

Even though

I wish them to be black

I wear skirts

And frilly shirts

Even though

I want skinnies

and skulled hoodies

I gossip and flirt

Even though

I long for video games

And a skateboard

My lsat nerve is torn

I do not care anymore

They can do whatever

they want to do to me

I just want

to be myself

i like this poem. i like the subject matter, trying to fit in, realizing you should be yourself, no matter what. be yourself. & those who are your true friends will still your friend. & those that judge, weren't your friends to begin with. a poem of realization. good write.
