Uncaring Heart

Uncaring Heart

A Poem by Ally Baker
"

dedicated to eilidh

"

Tears

Splash onto

My keyboard

As I read

The words

Again && again

I love her

They say

They must be wrong

Only last week

The 'her' was 'you'

Why is he doing this?

Why is he telling me?

Why is this happening?

Why?

This must be a dream

No

A nightmare

But the pain

Tells me it is real

I ask him

Why?

He tells me

That they never

Went away

Those feelings for her

When he saw her again

They bubbled back

To the surface

And his feelings

For me

Just sunk

To the dark

Cold depths

Of his

Uncaring heart

Amazing poem.

I understand everything you said. The same thing happened to me when just after I got out of a one year relationship (off and on, albeit), he had a new girlfriend and told me how much he loved her, how perfect they were for each other. T.T

Wonderfully written.
