I'm All Better

I'm All Better

A Poem by Ally Baker

Pain

I can not control

Throbbing

Red and swollen

Bleeding

At times

They take

Their sharp implements

And poke at it

Cutting things away

I scream out

Tears pouring

Down my face

Nails digging

into my arms

They dig deeper

To get to the root

Pain explodes

Again again

My screams

No longer come

A lump

In my throat

Blocks them

Tears still pour

As they keep digging

Nails

Dig deeper

Until the pain

Stops

They slap on

A band-aid

And tell me

I'm all better

Author's Note

Ally Baker
haha okay, well have you ever had an ingrown toenail? well if you have then you know how painful they can be just having them. And then when you get them taken out, its even worse. I get them all of the time, but recently its been worse and an experience of getting one taken out inspired this.
