Crying

Crying

A Poem by Ally Baker

I sit here

crying

the tears flow from my eyes

like a waterfall

for my stupidity

for my blindness

to what he was doing

all of that time.

I never noticed

the hallowness

in his 'I love you' s

I never noticed

the foreign look

in his eyes

when I was with him

I never noticed

how he would jump

with delight

at the sound

of a ringing phone.

I never noticed

when he stopped loving me

when we became

strangers.

So I sit here

crying

for my mistakes

for my stupidity

for my blindness.

crying
