[untitled]A Story by Ally BakerThomas burst into tears as he looked down at what happened. He couldn't bare the horrible sight any longer and tore his eyes away. Nathan circled Thomas in the air. His dark brown, eagle like wings that had a 13 ft. long wing span were flapping hard. He whispered "This is your fault! you caused this by leaving me there with those scientists to experiment on me. If you had stayed, you and Mandy would know what I'm capable of. You would have gone through the same tests and experiments as I went through. The same pain I had to go through after they genetically combined my DNA with avian DNA." "This isn't my fault! I wanted to take you with us! But you wouldn't come because of Mandy!" Thomas yelled at Nathan. "YOU are the one that caused this!" Thomas walked over to the edge of the cliff and pointed down. "You did that!" he shouted, reverting his pain-filled eyes to Nathan. "YOU are the one who caused that! Not me!" He looked back down to see something that amazed him. Where once had lain the crippled and disjointed corpse of Mandy was just a puddle of oddly colored blood. How is this possible? Thomas asked himself. She was right there. Where could she be? She couldn't have just walked away. I saw her laying there... DEAD!!! He was so sure of it. "Amazing isn't it?" Nathan said with a grin from ear to ear. "She is truly special. That is why she is perfect for this." "You see thomas; I went through tests and experiments before i met you. I am, what The Company calls, a healer. No matter what you do to me, my body will heal itself. If I had a broken bone, it would heal in seconds." She paused for a moment and smiled. "Oh yes. I am also partially avian as well." She said, flapping her sheer white, angelic wings exaggeratically. She was taller than Nathan, so her wingspan was longer. Her's had to be about 17 feet long. "Mandy! I am so happy that you are alive! But I do not understand. How does Nathan know about all of this, but me: nothing?" Thomas asked in true curiosity. Mandy let out a giggle. "He doesn't get it, does he?" Thomas was truly confused, although he was beginning to get it on his own. But Nathan and Mandy did not want him to take his time to figure it out. They wanted it all to him at once. "Mandy, please explain to our little friend," Nathan said, not even bothering to look at Mandy. "Why of course. Well, you see Thomas; I work for The Company and..." Mandy was cut off. "NO, MANDY, NO!! You can NOT be working for The Company! I know you! You are not evil. We fought togehter. You are good!" he shouted at Mandy. "Aw, that's so cute. You think I'm not evil. Well here's a news flash for you honey, I AM. I always have been and i always will be. It's alot of fun. Nathan and I have been working together since you and I 'escaped' together. You thought you were free from The Company. Well, you never were and you never will be. Now you will become an avian-human just like Nathan and I. Well of course, that is only if you can survive termination. Avian-humans must be special, unique, and coordinated. You already know too much information, and if you aren't going to be WITH The Company you will be terminated anyways." An evil grin crept upon her face as she said this. Thomas was so shocked by all of this. The Mandy he thought he knew was so sweet and innocent. She had been against The Company. She had been tortured by the scientists and despersate to escape that night. The Mandy he knew he had let closer than anyone ever. That Mandy was with Thomas in a way that apparently this Mandy was with Nathan. But that Mandy had only been an act. "Why?" was all he could manage to choke out. "It's what we do," Nathan and Mandy said in unison. They flapped their wings few times and shot off up into the air. The next moment after they were high in the sky, pink gas was sprayed from what appeared to be normal rocks all around Thomas. He had already felt sick to his stomach. Now he was feeling dizzy and light headed. He started to feel faint, and then lost all senses. He fell to the ground within an istant. Thomas awoke in a small enclosed room. He opened his eyes and found knives, spinning sharp objects and many more things pointed straight at him. He knew instantly that he was being tested to see if he was Company material. But when he tried to move to get a look at his other surroundings, he couldn't. His whole body was numb. He couldn't even speak. The only thing he could do was move his eyes and he could barely do that without moving his head to look around more. The mechanical killing devices began to draw closer to him. One began cutting at the rope tied around his legs, his arms, and other places where he was tied up. Then it started cutting through the hairs on his body. Then blood began to flow down to the floor like waterfalls. © 2008 Ally BakerAuthor's Note
