GOODBYE

you tell me you love me

butterflies invade my stomach

i know you mean as a friend

but my heart can't seem to understand

then you walk away from me

i see her standing there

she's waiting for you

you smile and hug her

my heart tears a little more

i dont know how much more it can take

i grow weaker ever day

everytime i see your face

everytime i hear your voice

& just when i think

i'm about to break completely

you tell me she's gone

a tear is sewn  back together

i know that i can let this

mend my heart quickly

& leave it weak

just to be broken again

or i can say goodbye

i can say goodbye to you

i can say goodbye to her

i can say godbye to the constant heartbreak

i can say goodbye to the neverending pain

i can live happier,

but will i be so happy?

when i've said goodbye

to your face?

to your voice?

to the warmth of your touch?

should i say goodbye?

or should i stay?

i stay

to try to figure it out

that was a mistake

i stay

and you break my heart

it was weak

it was an easy thing to do

my heart is in its worst condition

broken beyond repair

i have no choice

but to say goodbye

before you break

the broken pieces

of what was once my heart

Author's Note

okay, well i started this poem a while ago, maybe a month. i couldn't figure out how to finish it, i had only gotten to "or i can say goodbye" i found it in my poem book today during class, health class, and the rest just came to me, and i finished it :]. once again, from my imagination, not a personal experience.
