Rushing Wind

Rushing Wind

A Poem by Ally Baker

i hear two voices in my head

one tells me to jump

the other says don't

i'm torn between two decisions

in the end, the first voice wins out

i sigh and close my eyes

my knees bend

&& then i spring forward

i drop immediately

the wind slaps my face

and my eyes are watering

i watch the ground

as it grows larger

the breath is knocked out of me

my body is sore

i try to breath

time passes

i realize i am on the ground

grass is beneath my feet

i hear people approach me

they are saying my name

they ask if im okay

i look up at them

my eyes are wide

it went by so fast

from the jump to the ground

it was exhilirating

i smile widely

'i'm fine

but i love skydiving'

Beautiful! The last lines were a surprise to me, because I thought you were describing a metaphysical experience, and I was going to write how the jumping off point was the point of decision that we all must reach in our lives, but now I can't.

I've never gone skydiving, so your description will be how I know it.

Thank you.

Very beautiful introvert experience with oneself....the words are there... they need to be formed... wait and smile... all will be allright. I like your poetical command here.

-----------------------------------------this was to me a wonderful surrealistic view. Surrealistic means phantasmagorical, a sequence of real or imaginary images like that seen in a dream...... a nice work !!
(unfortunately, I don't have a friends list. thanks a lot for your interest. i keep my friends in my heart, i know where to find them and they know it, too. x gandr)
