My Daughter

My Daughter

A Poem by L.J Bunn
"

A poem of a love between mother and daughter.

"
Pitter patter of small feet,
pounding the floor beneath,
rushing towards what means the most,
the most excitable thing.

Looking down on her curved cheeks,
and most beautifully shaped lips.
Her black long lashes fluttering,
Like the beating rhythm of butterfly wings.
Chubby soft skin,
the most beautiful thing,
a most beautiful creature that I have created.

How amazing to ponder the wonder of this world.
Perfect in so many ways,
My heart inflates with an almighty power of love
for my daughter,
my world,
all I have are these simple words,

I love you.

Bursting with love and pride for your little treasure. Wonderful lines with such tender thoughts. Have a daughter myself and you reminded me of those warm feelings. Nicely conveyed.

So simple, yet profound and beautiful. Being a father and grandfather is a wonderful thing, but I believe motherhood must even be better. Very nice writing.
