You Taste Like Me

You Taste Like Me

A Poem by Miss Habit
"

A poem with a hook written for a friend that inspired me.

"

Dear kid sister of mine,
I like hugging you,

You're so soft,
As most baby elephants are.

To outsiders,
A decent well-mannered kid,
You portray yourself to be,

Aside from your kung-pao hair,
I do love, the hot pink kick!

My kid sister,
You taste like me,
Smart & pretty.
Water & Tang,
Yin & Yang.

You're the only crazy kid,
& yes you are crazy,

To have completely removed me,
From my mason jar.

You love to dance and sing,
Beside me you shall always be,

You are the wind,
I am the breeze.

My kid sister,
You taste like me,
Smart & pretty.
Water & Tang,
Yin & Yang.

Though you are just a kid,
You’ve mastered the art,

Of loving your big sis,
More than sunsets on the beach.

I relax when you sneek in,
& hug  me from behind,

My brilliant kid sister
Baby elephant, & sunshine.

My kid sister,
You taste like me,
Smart & pretty.
Water & Tang,
Yin & Yang.

I laugh as you rush away,
To some safe corner,

We’ll keep on laughing & smiling,
Never needing, a reason why.

I allow only you to take me,
To the brink of insanity,

Because I trust you,
That completely, yes, you have me.

My kid sister,
You taste like me,
Smart & pretty.
Water & Tang,
Yin & Yang.

Together we are happy,
Apart we are lost,

Kid sis you are my,
Bite of joy, my favorite toy.

A random beast introduced me,
To the sis I never knew,

Talk about a shock,
We are one soul, split in two.

My kid sister,
You taste like me,
Smart & pretty.
Water & Tang,
Yin & Yang.

Never have I known,
Genuine love & affection,

So true as that of which,
You have shown, & given me.

Confident artistic Elephant,
You excel at everything  you do,

I’m stuck to you softy,
Stuck like, super glue.

My kid sister,
You taste like me,
Smart & pretty.
Water & Tang,
Yin & Yang.

My kid sis taught me to master,
The male species look them in the eye,

Never back down & use superior skills,
to run circles round them.

My kid sister,
You taste like me.

Miss Habit
I wrote this for my girlfriend after I had a dream of her as a pink elephant, I rarely remember my dreams, after some initial reviews I decided to remove the "hook" from every other stanza to every two stanza because I could see how it could be a bit overwhelming I hope you enjoy, this is about friendship.

Great content. The repeating verse through out did it for me intially, but by the end-it was tired. Although I could definitely hear this in song! Overall-Great write.
