Me

I am my own god
I worship
Every part of myself
I’m my own buddah statue
Placed upon
My very own shelf
Some call me selfish
I call myself greedy

 

Needy of self improvement
Attention & room to vent
I invented myself
Many years spent
Rent paid for sins
I’ve yet to repent for

 

Pour me & you
A cup or two of brew
So I can inform you
Of my dark history
You’d of hated me
I know I did
& rightfully so
But without my dark days
I never would have grown

 

Never would have known
that when I smile I glow
Now I still haven’t discovered
All of me
I’m gonna wait & see
If anyone else
Sees a goddess in me

Well written piece. You show self viewed from the "god place" we all possess. It's the place of acceptance and forgiveness. It's the whole person place. The place we need to live from and with. Great job of lighting it up.

Wow!! All I can say is that I really needed to read such a write today. Since morning, I've been feeling miserable and well, I needed a medicinal poetry to calm me down, even a little bit. And this has been like so peaceful, encouraging and inspiring. I'm glad that I chose to read it...
