Lost

Lost

A Poem by A. Fischer

Still lost in this solitude

I created for myself

The ghosts seek for holes

In the will I have left

My will, not as solid

As I trusted it to be

Must temptation haunt my soul

Claim all that's left of me

Unfulfilled in the present

while anxieties reach a high

Fear overwhelmes my logic

Where does my future lie

Shall my legacy be wasted

On choices all made wrong

Will answers come to me

And may it not take so long

Rest easy in these faults I share

As a shipwreck lost at sea

While old father time himself

Seemingly takes its toll on me

'The ghosts seek for holes ....
These two lines are worth the price of the ticket.
This is the type of thinking that most sensitive people have before reaching for the bottle or deciding to join a 'club' of some sort. However, one must remember Socrates: 'The life unexamined, is the life not worth living.'
Good honest poetry.

very well done, gives a sense of uncertainty that we all have at times.

ooo this one is a little eerie - like an echo almost at times - I always find rhythm gives pieces like this a more sombre shade due to the sing song like feel - "must temptation haunt my soul" - to give in to it - create your own solitude and dwindle your legacy! I love "rest easy in these faults I share" - to revel in them - another's loss maybe - nice!

This is very haunting! The emotions are deep and expressed really well!

seems to me like I am looking in a mirror and asking these questions to myself... a self-check of sorts..haunted and plagued by doubts, fear of being forgotten and not getting rid of solidute that I had once chosen for myself...however...the last two stanzas show some sort of hope that the writes still wants to cling on to..but again... the idea to hold on to hope is intoxicated with self-fears and doubts...
as a piece...its wonderful!
