Looking Over The Edge

Looking Over The Edge

A Poem by Lucius Vaul

With shattered silence
 shadows weep
in hopes to find
a way to keep
me in this room away from sudden death

Then through the window
all disappears
now I am left
just standing here
pondering my final living breath

Standing upon
this ledge of stone
not by myself
yet all alone
voices brewing torment in my mind

I close my eyes

with head hung low

as sound floats up

from the streets below

with single step I leave it all behind

I really like this poem. It's not whiny or annoying like most suicide themed stuff. This is true and honest and bold. The only thing that I would say to work on is the last lines. It seems to lose a little flow. I would try to make it a little more profound. Awesome stuff though.
