I Care

For a special someone in my life who has dealt with and still deals with several struggles in their life. They are always in my heart.

Not everyone would understand.

But that isn’t something that would bother me,

Because all that matters is how I feel,

And that is what I want you to see.

        

I know things are difficult;

That there are things you must prepare for.

I just want to help.

If I could, I’d just show up at your door.

 

Sadly I cannot,

But that is not discouraging.

Because I know one day we’ll be together,

And we can both stop our waiting.

 

Before that happens, you need to make me a promise.

A promise that states you will never give in,

To the challenges the world throws your way.

And that you will release the strength I know you have within.

 

Never let go,

Don’t you dare!

If you ever feel like you’re slipping,

Just remember that I care.
