Much More

Much More

A Poem by Luciole
"

I had to write a sonnet for my English 1 Honors class. This is what I did for that assignment. It's about overcoming being an outcast, being different, and being bullied. I'm proud of this work.

"

The strength you bear is plastered on your face.

Hidden behind that mask lies idle fear.

With all the problems that you must embrace,

Happiness can hardly ever appear.

With people always breathing down your neck,

Telling you, you are not “perfect” enough.

You try to keep your emotions in check,

But with all of those negatives, it’s tough.

Just as you think things will only get worse,

And that people will never stop their jeers,

You see that life won’t always be a curse;

Things will get better in the next few years.

And you will be able to show them all,

That it takes much more to get you to fall.
