The Glutton

The Glutton

A Poem by Lucimere
"

We must fear her

"

There is such thing as eating too much

But that is no definition for gluttony, believe me

I know one

There are many like her

Except she is the worst of them all

She cant get full

Though it is not food she feasts on, but emotions

Ripping and tearing

Chomping and Chewing

At the flesh of the weak willed

The mentally ill

People who just cant seem to get a break

She eats all, but first fattens you up

With promises of love or friendship

Saying she will always be there

The moment when you actually believe her

That’s when she gets you

She feasts

Swallowing your heart

With one large gulp

There you lie empty

But she has not reached anywhere near full

So its on to the next

The next is you.

I hope you can see that, before you are eaten too.
