Winter ComesA Poem by Lucas C. M.A poem I did late fall after one of my morning jogs.
The air blows cold,
The ground lay hard, The asphalt black, Between the fields of frost, The icy white, That catches breath, The mist that rises, From the fields of frost, The summer leaves, The fall flies, Winter is coming, With no end in sight, The snow is close, The temperature drops, The leaves fall, And the animals hide, The cold sets in, The freezing follows, The waters that gave life, Become solid and cold, People do move, Slow but true, Through that cold, All for home, As the cold grows, And the freezing continues, There is but a glimmer, The start of a new, The ice will thaw, The waters will grow, The wildlife shall come, And the frost shall go, Life will return to normal, That warm and gentle time, But not today, Not tonight, For tonight the cold grows, The fall flies by, And soon the winter shall come, With no end in sight, © 2015 Lucas C.
