Amerika?

A rambling rant, thought and question...

     What happened to the amerikan dream? It came true folks... A country built on the theft of a land from a peaceful people. The raping and murdering of that people and the destruction of their world... A country built from a lack of integrity begat what we are seeing today. People with zero or declining social interaction skills(a text or email is NOT personal interaction!) or love for their fellow man. Loss of self respect and thereby respect for others and their feelings and beliefs. Police doing whatever they see fit and is easiest rather than their jobs. A people with such an entrenched sense of entitlement they don't want to truly work for their dreams.(You are only entitled to your breath, your beliefs and working in pursuit of your dreams.) A government, State and Federal alike, that covers up rather than admitting and correcting their mistakes. A life where values are dictated by a box of flashing images. A life where love can be disregarded and hated because it doesn't suit your definitions. A life where our children know Taylor Swift but not Charles Dickens or Henry Thoreau. A life defined by obsessions with fame and possessions.A life where our queens are referred to as "b*****s" and young men aspire to be "thug" or "hard". A life defined by the almighty dollar. Life is not about money. The system is broken... always has been... But the beauty of our constitution is that it allows US, THE PEOPLE, to fix it. The rest is in us already... The human capacity to understand, care and love. We just have to do the work. Man is capable of such beautiful dreams... Why then do we allow the construction of our worst nightmares and accept mediocrity as a community? We are drowning in apathy. Reach out... We should strive to be better. Shouldn't we? We should seek meaning and magic... Society only seems to pull together in the face of mass tragedy... Really? Is it so hard to do it every day? Turn off the tv folks... Put down the smart phone. Hug and talk to your children... Hug and talk to a friend... Hug and talk to your partner... Go hug your damn neighbor... I don't agree with everyone... I don't approve of everyone's actions, beliefs or lifestyles... But I still love them. We should still love them. I dread the thought of my children growing up in a world that is afraid to understand, show compassion or show love. I promise I will work at it... Fight for it. I will fight the darkness. What will you do? Accept the status quo? Think about it before you answer...

Adapt and overcome. Think outside the box... Deviate... The mainstream or "normal" is NOT working... Think, learn, appreciate, grow, smile, breathe... love...............................................................

If you've fought and bled for this country and it's people I believe you may understand a bit better the direction from which I speak. Is this what was intended? Is this what we bled and buried our friends for? I'm just ranting here... I don't expect likes or dislikes. So say what you will. If it makes you think... I've served my purpose. Have at it.

We are entering a stage of dysfunctional gridlock. A failing that will ultimately destroy this nation and can be seen clearly in other nations should you choose to see it. There is no way to stop the downward spiral. You might survive the coming storms, however, you must be strong, flexible and determined.
Politicians choose to rule us instead of represent us. Social engineering has been in full swing for over 60 years now.
More than 1000 years ago, a ragtag, loosely thrown together group of barbarians defeated the greatest army in the world, the Romans. The Vikings..the Germanic, Celt and Norse chose not to be ruled and /or enslaved by those that wanted to tax them...tell them how to govern themselves..dictate in all manner their lives. Nothing has changed my friend....except now we are civilized...but civilization is a lie. As you can see...civilization really means.."Sit down and shut your mouth"..we the elite know what is better for you than you do.
It's not going to change on it's own. When the last bricks of society crumble ..it is up to the strong..those with a sense of stewardship..to reclaim freedom.
If I am alive then..I will say.."Draw your swords gentlemen or wear your chains".
