Cold...

Cold...

A Poem by Lucifer Jones
"

rambling, rambling, rambling...

"
     I have been bathed in you... Ice blue pools cold beyond freezing. Blackening my skin, burning me with intensity and light. When you go I tremble in darkness and wallow in selfish indulgements. I still taste you salty and musky on my lips and tongue... Afraid to swallow too deeply for fear it go. Clutching empty space, frantic to keep your warmth. Feeling it flee my fingertips in pursuit of the glow you've stripped from my sight. I become just another stretched shadow reaching at your feet. Cold and damp... Aching to be cast again and again upon sun warmed ground.

I have bathed in you...
Ice blue pools are cold beyond freezing.
It Blackens my skin;
burning with intensity and light.
When you leave...
I tremble in darkness as I wallow in selfish pity.
Still tasting your salt on my lips.
Afraid to swallow too deeply...
for fear of letting you go.
Clutching onto empty space;
desperate to keep you warm.
But you flee my fingertips...
as if,
in pursuit of the glow you've stripped from my sight.
I become just another stretched shadow at your feet.
You left me feeling cold and damp...
Aching to be cast again and again upon sun warmed ground.

I have not felt inspired to rewrite anybody's ramblings for awhile...hope you don't mind. :)))

What a great piece. I love the way you flow it all together. For me, this is just the way it is supposed to be.
