There Was Nothing

There Was Nothing

A Poem by Lucifer Jones
"

my incessant ramblings...

"
Faded and tattered. From the floor I sweep what's left of all I've ever known. Fractured and shattered. I cast upon the wind all that I've ever hoped.
I hold out my hands for what remains. I try. To find I'm holding only shadows cast by mind. You wanted something I can't know. You sought out pain and hurt to fill your hole.
There was nothing I could save you from. You chose your path all by yourself. There was nothing I could do but cry. You'd wandered so long accepting your hell. There was nothing I could save you from. No more words that I can say. There was nothing I could do but cry. You chose your life and walked away.
Hollow and scattered. The hole you've torn inside yourself is so cold. Vacant. What matters? You've tried to fill the wound with so many souls.
