Lonely Old Enemy

Lonely Old Enemy

A Poem by Lucy

Waiting to implode
Can't stop
Can't stop
Nowhere to go

Oh, I me mine
Jealous, bitter, sad
Lonely all
Tick Tock
There we go

Hear a boom
And sigh
Watch it crash
Cry
It all comes down
You're all alone

Fight, fight!
You squeeze your ears,
You try to not hear...
Your own voice,
Accusing,
Destroying,
Lying,
And hurting

Another one falls down
Another hits the ground
And once more you hurt
And once more you die
And again, you are alone
And again, you cry

Again, again!
Never again!
But deep down, you know full well
You're not at all close to the end

Oh, fiendish enemy
Ah, mortal wound
The sword that strikes its master
The spear that stabs its lord
Treacherous, vile
Cunning liar

Deceit
Evil intention
Can be seen
In every action

Ah, horrible enemy
Manipulative
Soulless fiend

For the joy of hurt,
hurts itself
For the thrill of pain,
breaks itself
For the peace of death
destroys itself

Ah, lonely old enemy
Pitiable sad fool...

Painful, bruised
The heart suffers,
For its own folly
Brings with it
Pain immeasurable
Hurt eternal

And never will it stop
Not while there is life
For death is the one way
The Lonely Old Enemy finds rest
