The Spider the Snake and the CrowA Poem by LuciaA spider ebbes back and forth against her web so as to mimic the reverberating tension of those once ensnared. She cannot handle the loneliness of it. She cannot understand how she is more like her prey now than ever before. A starving snake desperately weaves his tale through his own fangs, consumed by consumption, birthing fire. He cannot handle his hunger. He cannot understand why his is hungrier now than he was before. Somewhere in the distance a crow’s final chord is struck and the symphony is lost. He called to birth the sunrise like the calling of the lark, surprised when only Death arrived to sing his final mark. © 2018 LuciaReviews
