Did that thing just whisper something or is it just me?

Did that thing just whisper something or is it just me?

A Poem by Lucia
"

"

life deals in a multitude of currencies

Beauty, compassion, knowledge...

But not everyone takes your payment

Not everyone understands your current

And some of the things that glisten and gleam the brightest of ways

by means of meager glitter and kitsch and display

are condemned to the ever and desolate sway

of their innards laid barren like slaves to dismay

and here I am begging to be torn apart,

scattered and torn like the strands of my heart

that have built up the fibre of my existence

responsible for this glamorous encasement

So that I may reveal my...

"It’s a matryoshka doll! You know, like those Russian nesting dolls?

Ellen, come here, quick, look!

It's pretty cute, isn't it?"

Damn my crippling self awareness...

True and honest words Lucia.

The above line. Are true. Few have concern for other people. Lost in their own world. I liked the directness of your words. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Another stunning piece! It revels in its poignant, relevant and elegant delivery. I couldn't agree more with your perspective about the droves of droning unaware masses.. but like you said, we as the artists of all we observe and experience are painfully aware. Thank you for another beautiful and brilliant piece! Might I add that your flow and choice of words are spot on without being too over the top or contrived. I really enjoy reading your thoughts spill out here! A rare perfect 100 from me...

I did enjoy your work.
Lovely amount of self loathing goimg on here.
Its strange how beauty can be a curse.
Your last line nails it.
Something tells me that doll has a short life.
Like the way you put the words into what we're thinking.
