Paper Doll

Paper Doll

A Poem by Lucia
"

i'm not actually married it's a metaphor

"

My husband is a paper doll that hangs above my head

The mast by which propelled the sturdy knot holding its stead

He lives in every stranger I, a fool once took to bed

The subtle cuts of paper tickling frozen cheeks made red

And no one sees the blood a bud to peek upon those cheeks beneath the barrier of my skin

Until they find me laying there, and laying different now- for I am paper thin

My husband is the stain that dawns, a stain forever he shall be

For he is not the paper one

The paper one is me

Wow this was amazing! Beautifully written and expertly crafted, I could hear a soft voice flowing over the words and the flow and the voice mingled perfectly. This poem is one of the best I have ever read. It completely blows me away. I hope one day I’ll be able to write a poem half as good as this. Thank you for sharing such a beautifully heartfelt and dark piece!

Wow.. my jaw drops at your writing.. I feel the flow of your pen because your timing and piecing together of words is perfectly balanced and expertly melodic. Your metaphor--ooh chills.. I too have experienced many of the exact same feelings as you have described so succinctly in this piece: He lives in every stranger I a fool once took to bed. I have definitely lived that and the same aftermath of feelings and emotion too.. that each one cuts away at you until you feel paper thin. Again I am in awe of your beautiful, haunting, sweet and intense writing. I love your word choice, use of imagery and metaphors. I love the dynamics and shifts. You definitely elevate writing to an art. Thank you for the inspiration again!! The rare 100 score is yours again from me.

I hint a little of sadness in this write. I enjoyed this, very emotional.

Right title for this powerful piece.
Hidden indoors, hidden inside.
But not really hidden in mind.
Great write.
