Music Box

short story

late one day, a man had gone out to find a gift for his new wife it was her birthday and he had ordered a music box made out of seashells from the beach they had gotten married on and it had a carved flower on top that was a sign of love...
He had been riding his horse to the shop. It took about an hour and a half to get there they lived pretty far out. He eventually arrived to the shop and got his present.
Leaving he had noticed some strange clouds rolling in but quickly ignored them thinking they were to pass by quickly.
He got down the road and into the spot of the forest when the storm hit winds picking up and before he knew it the snow came down so fast that his horse got spooked. Rearing up and afraid he fell off and his horse it began to run away from it's rider the man was about an hour away from home and with heavy snow like this there was a little chance of making it there alive but he had to try.
He had begun to get colder and colder eventual he was unconscious laying in the snow with the music box in his jacket keeping it safe for anything that might take it....
Hours had gone by and The wife had gotten worried. when the snow started to clear she went out to search for him and she saw the horse a little bit a ways from the road not seeing him on it she raced in order to find him looking around not seeing him the sun shined down and something sparkled within the snow.

She jumped off her horse and started to dig away the snow with her hands and there laid this box made out of pink shell and her favorite flower on top.
with no sign of her husband she opened the box and the song that was playing had been her wedding song with tears flowing down her cheeks she noticed a letter in the bottom panel it was from her husband the letter had said...

"We got married by the ocean and i had began to notice you missed it. So i wanted to bring a piece of it to you happy birthday I love you..."
and inside the paper was there wedding picture...
years and years had passed and the man was never found some say the snow took him others think he sunk to the bottom of the earth but all that remained was a music box and words that could no longer be spoken..
