Facade

Facade

A Poem by Lucas .A
"

A poem depicting a subject I would rather not revile... I want to make sure it's not too confusing.

"
The light burns bright, streaming from my heart,
Shining through my cracking outer facade,
They stare and judge my ethereal light,
They believe such expression should remain inside,
My world glows with such ecstasy,
But I fear what others might think of me,
My light beams bright, pleading to be seen,
Yet, I hide in corners, tearing at the seams,
I coat my facade with lead based paint,
Bleeding into my heart with such somber pain,
The toxins leave me dull and blank,
Just like the rest, all of which the paint has stained...

One of my first attempts at writing poetry, I think it's a little too literal at times, but I hope you enjoy the message. Feedback is encouraged.
